The Wedge-seal slips into the channels at both the top and bottom of the window. There were 2, different, top and bottom seals used on Series 1600 windows: the Wedge-Seal and the D-seal. Caution:The two seals are not interchangeable. The Wedge-seal requires the larger channel opening.The D Seal will fit into either channel. The Wedge Seal will only fit into the window with the larger channel opening. The window series and part numbers can be found stamped into the outside bottom of the left, vertical, aluminum frame member. Our engineering team has reproduced this seal to exacting specifications by taking measurements from actual windows and finally fit checking to ensure an exact fit. The original Hehr part number was 009-120.

The plastic backing of this pile weatherstrip is identical to the width and thickness of the original aluminum-backing.
